Purpose
In cooperation with DSA,
Inc., GRSC has designed a special modification into the FN FAL scope
mount, allowing the mounting of the Trijicon ACOG for a lower profile
shooting position. Mounting the ACOG in this manner facilitates the
use of the iron sights, also improving proper cheek weld. This set
up has proven itself to be very effective for rapid and multiple
target acquisition. The operator is able maintain a higher degree
of control of the overall sight picture, resulting in quick and proper
shot placement
This photo shows modifications to the FN FAL scope
mount.
This allows the ACOG to be mounted lower and still
have iron sight capability.

Note that the rear iron sight is in the 400 meter position. In the
200 meter position, the rear of the ACOG is even with the iron sights.
This provides proper eye relief for most operators.
The iron sights are now usable as emergency back up
sights.
